108 Days ASUU Strike: Nigerian Students Protest In Calabar, Say No School No Election

The National Association of Nigerian Students, NANS, Cross River State chapter on Thursday, June 2, 2022, in Calabar, staged another peaceful protest against the 108 days long strike by the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU.

The peaceful protest is to express the students’ displeasure with the industrial action which started on February 14, 2022.

The students in their numbers kicked off the march from the University of Calabar, UNICAL, Main gate chanting solidarity songs bearing placards displaying inscriptions such as “End ASUU strike now”, “No school, no election”, “Education is our right” amongst others.

The protest which witnessed gridlocks at major routes in the Calabar metropolis terminated at the Federal Secretariat, Calabar with a close monitor from men of the Nigerian Police Force.
