Men of the Nigeria Police Force have finally arrested CrossRiverWatch publisher, Citizen Agba Jalingo, after holding his wife, and daughter hostage for over an hour at his Ogudu residence in Lagos State.
Mr. Jalingo had raised the alarm at about 4:00PM and refused to step out since the Policemen did not identify themselves.
The Police sent reinforcements who informed him that the plain cloth officers were sent from Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory. This was corroborated by an eyewitness.
The eyewitness said: “He is now in Alapere Police station. He agreed to follow them when about six Police officers in uniform arrived from the Alapere station, in a Toyota Sienna vehicle to follow the four who had arrived earlier in the tinted Toyota Camry,” an eyewitness (name withheld) told CrossRiverWatch.
The Police are yet to reveal why he has been arrested.
The Police have also surrounded the CrossRiverWatch office in Calabar. They came in a green colored Toyota Camry with tinted glass.
The arrest comes three days shy of the third anniversary of his arrest on August 22, 2019, where he eventually spent 179 days incarcerated in Police and Prison custody.
He was eventually discharged and acquitted of all charges which bordered on terrorism, treasonable felony and attempts to overthrow the government of Governor Ayade.
