Mr. Jalingo announced her passing in a short statement on his Facebook page.

“At last, my grandmother has joined our ancestors at 121 years old,” he wrote and prayed for the repose of her soul while remembering his late mother, her daughter and younger brother, Philip Agba.

“If people truly reunite yonder, she would have seen her daughter, Ungie-Ato (my mother) and my younger brother, Agbibia,” he said and shared some fond memories with her.

“I usually go home to massage her feet with coconut oil, while she was always praying for me. I will miss her dearly,” he wrote.
