Youths from Ikom, Bekwarra, Ogoja and other local government areas in Cross River North have jointly affirmed their unwavering support for the Social Democratic Party (SDP) candidates across the State.
This was made known at the arrival of the gubernatorial candidate of SDP, Engineer Okokon Effiom, his deputy Daniel Obo and their entourage to the area for a consultative meeting with the SDP members in Bekwarra and other Local Government Areas in the Northern Senatorial District of the State.
In Ikom, the SDP gubernatorial candidate, Engineer Okokon Effiom, and his entourage visited Mr. Praise Achima, one of the SDP stakeholders at his residence, border road, where they both rejuvenated their interest in making sure that the Social Democratic Party wins the governorship election in 2023.
Addressing party stalwarts, Okokon Effiom broke down his agenda tagged #TheHEARTSProject and said, “I am happy to meet you all, be firm and let’s work to take back our State. We are winning in 2023; are you not tired of being outside? We have numerous programs for everybody – agriculture, tourism, education, and healthcare is our avenue to create impact.”
On his part, Mr. Praise revealed that he is expecting defectors soon. He said, “I have chosen my part in the SDP and I expect more people to join us.”
Meanwhile, at Bekwarra Local Government Area, where all the North stakeholders at ward levels gathered to receive the SDP team, Okachi James, and Abua Ferdinand, all affirmed that “all the ten wards of Bekwarra, the wards in Ogoja, Obanliku, Yala, and Obudu are in support of you because with SDP Cross River will change,” expressing resolve to ensure 100 percent votes for SDP in their various wards.
Amongst those who received the guber candidate and his deputy was the party’s candidate for Bekwarra State constituency, Simon Emanke, among others.
The SDP team also paid a visit to Ada Bekwarra, Chief Signor Omang in his residence in Gakem.
The team also celebrated the annual Ipem Ihihe Bekwarra new yam festival, marked at Abuechiche.
The consultative meeting was climaxed by remarks from all the wards in Cross River North.
