At least not less than two soldiers of the Nigerian Army are closely watching as residents of Okomita and Uyanga Communities in Akamkpa Local Government Area of Cross River State, muscle to scoop Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) better known as fuel from a fallen tanker.
The yet-to-be-identified company tanker fell just by the roadside at about 8:30am on Friday along the Calabar-Ikom highway, causing a crowd of villagers to flaunt the “highly inflammable” warning to battle for the current sought-after commodity.
It can be noted that there have been cases of explosions as a result of scooping fuel from fallen tankers.
