Cross River Governor, Senator Ben Ayade has approved the elevation of the General Manager of the State’s newspaper corporation, Chronicle, Mr. Emmanuel Akpong, and twenty other Directors to the rank of Permanent Secretary in the State’s public service, a release from the office of the Head of Service office says.
The release, signed by the Head of Service, Mr. Timothy Akwaji with reference number GO/HOS/97/Vol.l/49 and dated December 16, 2022, said the appointments are with immediate effect.
Asides Akpong, the Directors elevated are Etim Effiong Ayi, Ben Tawo Olom, Philip Ena Mgbe, Mbong Atu Ausaji, Ekanem Comfort Ekpenyong, Abu Mathias Ujie, Christopher Anake, Egbe Samuel Egbala, Esege Bassey Edward, and Leonard Egede.
Others include Ogboaka Thomas Ukwenda, Obute Pauline Binang, Ajah Francis Aja, Aqua Oko Bassey, Arako Charles Joseph, Eme Affiah, Olom Joseph Ogon, Clement Oko Ushie, Bassey Ekpe Bassey, and Augustine Sunday Nyiam.
The announcement came three days after the Governor’s deputy spokesman, Mr. Linus Obogo announced the appointment of 204 new aides without portfolios – a continuation of a recent trend.
