The Nigerian Police Force has frowned at motorist who use sirens, revolving light, unregistered vehicles and covered number plates.
Those using them risk arrest, as their action is illegal.
The revelation was made by Force Public Relations Officer, Prince Olumuyiwa Adejobi, on his official Twitter handle.
The Police spokesperson said, “The use of siren, revolving light, unregistered vehicles, and covered number plates are illegal and punishable under the law.”
He added that “Many who use siren now are not qualified. Many cover their number plates while many don’t even have registered numbers, yet they torment and harass innocent people on the road.
“All these are illegalities. We are ready to descend on the violators and cause them to face the full wrath of the law. Our commands and formations have been directed to go after the violators and prosecute them accordingly.”
“We must regulate the indiscriminate use of siren, revolving light, and sanitise our system by all means. It’s not for Tom, Dick and Harry. We deserve the best. Ire o.” He said.
