The Senatorial candidate for Cross River Central Senatorial District under the Action Alliance (AA), Roland Bassey has congratulated the winner – Eteng Williams and other senatorial districts winners for the just concluded national assembly election.
In a congratulatory message signed and made available to CrossRiverWatch Roland thanked his party for giving him the platform to tell the people of central Cross River that the future is bright despite losing out.
Congratulating the NASS winners who will be representing the State at the 10th assembly, he pray them to justify the confidence reposed on them by the people who have played their part.
He said in every competition, there must be a winner, and in the concept of Nigerian politics, the winner takes it all, and the loser stands small, but strongly believe that after the battle, there is “no victor, no vanquished situation”, because the task ahead is in the interest of the entire Cross River State; calling on all and sundry to join hands to make it work and achieve the set targets.
“I want to use this medium to thank my party-Action Alliance (AA) and her leadership for giving me the platform to tell the good and long-suffering people of Cross River Central Senatorial District and Nigerians across all divides that the future is brighter. My family, friends, and supporters at home and in the Diaspora are also not forgotten for their prayers, encouragement, and support. Above all, I return all Glory to Jehovah God almighty for his mercies, favor, and faithfulness and a successful and peaceful electoral journey.
“I want to also seize this opportunity to congratulate my co-contestants in the Cross River Central senatorial district election and everyone who stepped forward to serve the Nigerian masses in this auspicious time for coming this far, for making the race a memorable and remarkable one, and for all their sacrifices toward building a new Nigeria that will better serve the interests of all. What we have achieved in this short period shows that no challenge is insurmountable, when we come together in agreement. Hence, regardless of the blight caused by perceived irregularities and other unforeseen circumstances, our electoral processes can only improve as we march forward toward the democratic Eldorado.
“Indeed, it was a fiercely contested race across the country for the opportunity to provide the Nigerian people with a new direction in governance and to consolidate the gains of our democratic adventure but as it is natural or by design, in every competition, there must be a winner. In the concept of Nigerian politics, the winner takes it all, and the loser stands small, but I strongly believe that after the battle, it is a no Victor, No Vanquished situation, because the task ahead is in the interest of the entire Cross River State. Therefore, all and sundry must join hands to make it work and achieve the set targets.
“To every winner on the day, the people have played their part by choosing you amongst many, it is time to pay them back for the confidence they reposed in you. On my part, I want to extend my very best wishes for the success of your tenures and to implore you to brace up for the challenges ahead.
“At this juncture, I want to specially congratulate Rt. Hon. Eteng Williams Jonah as the Senator-Elect for Cross River Central Senatorial District for your victory at the polls and subsequent receipt of your Certificate of Return. It is indeed a new dawn.
“I hereby urge every eligible Nigerian citizen to go out and vote wisely in the upcoming Gubernatorial and State house of Assembly elections. To God be the Glory! God Bless Cross River State, God Bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria.”
