Cross River: Reality 2023-2027… BY AGBA JALINGO

  1. I personally think that moving forward, it should be clear to those going into office from 2023-2027, that the so-called automatic second term is now based on performance. If you don’t perform, you get fired!
  1. If the incoming Governor puts Cross River on the path of tangible development within the period, he will get the commensurate praise, accolades, and support required to perform.
  1. If the incoming Governor decides to maintain the status quo whether covertly or overtly, Cross Riverians will not hesitate to call him out, and sincerely, Heaven will not fall. We are all ready to support our incoming Governor but that is only if he leads us well. Not by threats.
  1. No one, actually no one or no threat will stop any vocal citizen from calling the next Governor of Cross River out when things are wrong or from praising him when things go right. Those days are long gone and the earlier that sinks, the better. This is 2023-2027.
  1. There are more and more young Cross Riverians; sharp, brilliant, intelligent, deep, and angry about the stunted growth in our State and have now gained the confidence to speak out. They are blogging their anxieties already, how-ever-be-it. And the tempo will heighten between 2023-2027.
  1. The only path to gaining citizen cooperation now is persuasion, not cohesion or suppression. That is antiquated. It should be clear by now that the later strategy has lost taste and appeal.
  1. Those who defend every bull-dung from every government because they want appointments should know that those who want the government to work for those without appointments, are ready for them in the open field of ideas.
  1. Technology, the by-product of science, is promising new tools with which we will hold incoming leaders accountable. No matter how discretely they plan to manipulate us, innovation is giving us new and remote tools yearly to poke our noses in their closets. It will not be business as usual from 2023-2027.
  1. When what you have ahead of you is already revealed as it were, you need to then settle in and prepare the right tools, namely; a competent team and the right answers for proper information management.
  1. It is also yours sincerely prayer and fervent hope that the incoming Governor will take us on a different ride with tangible benefits. That is the reason I keep writing without ceasing. Not to impress you.
