Cross River Governor Direct State Auditor-General To Proceed On Immediate Retirement

The Cross River Governor, Sen. Bassey Edet Otu has directed the immediate retirement of the State Auditor-General, Mr. John Odey.

The directive was contained in a memo signed by the Chairman of the Cross River State Civil Service Commission, Mr. Inaku Uko. 

The memo with Ref no: CRC/P/25676/T./2 dated June, 2nd 2023 directed the Director of Administration to oversee the office.

It reads in parts: “I have the directive of His Excellency, the Governor, requesting you to proceed on retirement with immediate effect.

“Consequent upon the above, you are hereby requested to hand over to the Director of Administration who will oversee the office till further notice.

“On behalf of the Government of Cross River State, I wish to thank you for your meritorious service and wish you success in your retirement.”
