Governor Bassey Otu of Cross River State has directed the immediate audit and verification of civil and unified local government service staff.

A release signed by the Permanent Secretary (GAO), Dr. Innocent Eteng, for the Secretary to the State Government, enjoined staff in the northern senatorial district of the state to avail themselves of the exercise which will hold in two designated centers of the zone.

It listed the Ogoja center for staff in Ogoja, Bekwarra, and Yala councils with the venue at Ogoja local government council headquarters, as well as the Obudu center, for those in Obudu and Obanliku with the venue at Obudu council headquarters.

The exercise scheduled for Monday, July 31 to Friday, August 4, 2023, will commence by 9AM daily in the northern senatorial zone.

The release indicated that staff for the exercise need to appear with a complete enrollment form, letter of first appointment, confirmation, and last two letters of promotion where applicable.

Other documents required are a staff identity card, birth certificate or affidavit of birth, educational qualifications, BVN, and current pay slip.

It further directed all staff “to comply with these requirements,” to “avoid the omission of their names in the verified payroll that will emanate from the exercise.”
