Biase Secondary School, Ehom Biase, in Cross River State, will be one of the schools to benefit from the deployment of a Digital Economy Centre (DEC) by the Federal Government.
The project is an initiative by the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), under the supervision of the Federal Ministry of Communication and Digital Economy.
A statement by Dr. Mohammed Saidu Kumo, Head of Project Management Unit (PMU) for the Director General/CEO of NITDA indicates that “the DEC project by NITDA, is deployed as an intervention project aimed at facilitating access to digital services such as e-learning.
“The DEC comprises computers, internet connectivity, Local Area Network (LAN), e-learning solution, solar powered inverter, generator, etcetera.”
Upon writing to the management, the benefiting Secondary School, NITD is requesting that the school management should, “kindly ensure utmost cooperation with the Agency and the contractor during the execution of the project and appoint a liaison officer for correspondence.”
