CrossRiverWatch To Hold Twitter Space On Sex Predators And Our Schools: Matters Arising

By CrossRiverWatch Admin

Cross River’s foremost investigative media outfit, CrossRiverWatch is set to convene a Twitter space over increasing issues of sexual harassment in tertiary institutions in the State.

The Twitter space is scheduled for Friday 18th of August, 2023, from 3:00PM – 415PM.

According to the Managing Editor of the dogged media house, Comrade Archibong Jeremiah the session became necessary considering the outcry from victims of sexual abuses by lecturers.

His statement reads in part: “The recent protest in our esteemed University of Calabar (UNICAL) by female students in the faculty of law shows that a lot is happening in that institution that needs close observation from the larger society.

“As a movement journalism outfit that uses investigative and solutions based approaches to storytelling, it is important to have this engagement.

“The corresponding engagement the issue has generated makes it imperative that civic space actors have to convene and deliberate on a lasting solution.

“We encourage all and sundry to join this unique conversation because this issue is becoming a plague in our tertiary institutions. We are using the current UNICAL event as a case study.”
