Cross Riverians in the Diaspora (CRID); an organization working globally to unite Cross Riverians, promote mutual understanding, harness expertise and support programs that accelerate sociopolitical, economic and cultural change among others has been inaugurated.
The inauguration held at Marian Hotel, Calabar had committee members and many more volunteers inaugurated.
Dr. Justin Udie, Chairman of Cross Riverians in Diaspora Environmental Sustainability and Biodiversity Committee reiterated that it is their responsibility to deliver CRID environmental activities directly and indirectly to the benefit of Cross Riverians.
He praised the newly inaugurated committee for their tremendous effort to maintain a clean Cross River State and charged the volunteers to rise and fight along with the government to restore Cross River especially Calabar back to its clean State.
The Deputy Governor of the State Honorable Peter Odey expressed profound gratitude to the team and all newly inaugurated volunteers for standing up to fight alongside his government to restore Cross River State.
Hon. Peter represented by Commissioner for Environment Dr. Hippo Latus Ogar Lupata said “A lot of people volunteer and they will be doing so well but after a week or two they will begin to count the number of offices they will have gotten paid if they had gotten the job instead of wasting their time here.”
He urged the volunteers not to deviate as some get to change their minds after a week or two; assuring that the government will continue to give support to the Environmental Sustainability and Biodiversity Committee Club.
