The Executive Governor of Cross River State, Senator Bassey Edet Otu has ordered the immediate suspension of revenue collections payable in all revenue points in Calabar Municipality.
This was contained in a press release signed by Mrs. Eke E. Ani, Head of Local Government Administration dated 10th October, 2023.
The release says the gesture is to cushion the hash effect of the removal of fuel subsidy.
It noted that the directive is with immediate effect and all revenue agents are advised to comply.
It reads in parts “This is to inform all members of the public that the Governor of Cross River State, His Excellency, Senator Prince Bassey E. Otu, as part of the palliatives has approved and ordered that all Revenue Collections payable in all Revenue Points in Calabar Municipality should be suspended with effect from Wednesday 11th October, 2023 to 11th November, 2023.
“This suspension is part of the measures to cushion the effect of fuel Subsidy removal on the populace.
“All Revenue Agents are advised to comply with these directives.”
