The traditional rulers in Ikom Local Government Area of Cross River State have pledged their support for the National Youth Assembly of Nigeria (NYAN) Ikom chapter.
The pledge was made on Saturday 9th September 2023 when the leadership of NYAN paid a visit to the Ikom Traditional Rulers Council.
The visit was led by Ambassador Bassey Nton the President of NYAN Ikom chapter and his entourage as well as other members of the group including Ambassador Victor Lifu who is the majority leader of the Assembly.
The main reason for their visit to the traditional rulers was to build a relationship and create unity with the royal fathers made up of 11 clan Heads, representing the 11 wards of Ikom LGA, including the Traditional Ruler elect; HRH Takin Atangba.
Other royal fathers who were present include, HRH Boniface Ndoma who is the clan head of Abayum ward and also the Chairman, Traditional Rulers Council Ikom.
Not left out were HRH Nton-aton, engineer Nton Bassey Nsan- Clan Head of Nde; Clan Heads of Ofutop 1 and 2, Nta-nsle, Nnam, Ikom urban 1 and 2 Olulumo and other chiefs who were present; all giving fatherly advice to NYAN as well as pledge their support to them.
They also encourage the association to uphold their mission, vision and objectives.
The traditional leaders extended their regards to Ambassador Eugene Ojua who is the chairman of the state convention and election planning committee for a successful election and the management of the group since the formation of the National Youth Assembly of Nigeria (NYAN ) on September 24, 2023 and appreciating their members for tirelessly engaging in raising awareness among the youth and stakeholders of Ikom about NYAN’s objectives.
The visit by NYAN to the Traditional Council is the first since the election and inauguration of the NYAN Ikom Local Government.
