Immediate past Special Adviser, Media and Publicity, and Chief Press Secretary to former Governor Ben Ayade, Mr. Christian Ita, Esq, has been honored with a Distinguished THISDAY Alumni award at a colorful event held in Abuja.
The event was attended by several dignitaries including the Information Minister, Mohammed Idris Malagi, the chairman of ThisDay/Arise TV, Prince Nduka Obaigbena, some former ministers and ambassadors.
Presenting the award to Ita, the Chairman of ThisDay Alumni Group, Mr. Tony Onyima said the recipient was found worthy for being one of the exemplary former staff and a good ambassador of the media platform.
He said the award was a testimony of Ita’s contributions to the journalism profession and public service in Nigeria.
Ita joined ThisDay Newspaper as a rookie reporter on the political desk and rose to the position of Assistant News Editor and Judicial Editor within three years.
He was also at various times the political editor of The Sun Newspaper on Sunday, weekend and Daily Editor of the now rested National Life Newspaper. He later became the Managing Director of the newspaper.
Barrister Christian Ita served as Chief Press Secretary to Governor Liyel Imoke and Ben Ayade for 11 years and later became the special adviser on Media and Publicity.
