The Governor of Cross River State, Senator Bassey Otu will on December 15, launch the 2023 Armed Forces Remembrance Emblem and appeal week in the State.
The Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Mr. Emmanuel Ogbeche disclosed this in a press release made available to newsmen in Calabar.
Governor Otu said the annual event aims to honor and remember the sacrifices made by the brave men and women of the armed forces who dedicated their lives to protecting the nation.
He noted that during the launching, he will officially unveil the emblem which symbolizes respect and gratitude for the sacrifices made by gallant armed forces personnel.
It is billed to hold at the main Bowl of the Cultural Center complex, Calabar at 10 am, December 15th.
It reads: “Governor Bassey Otu of Cross River State will launch the 2023 Armed Forces Remembrance Emblem and Appeal Week on December 15 in Calabar.
“The annual event aims to honor and remember the sacrifices made by the brave men and women of the armed forces who dedicated their lives to protecting our nation.
“It serves as a reminder of their selflessness, courage, and dedication to duty.
“During the launch, Governor Otu will officially unveil the 2023 Armed Forces Remembrance Emblem, which symbolizes our respect and gratitude for the sacrifices made by our armed forces personnel.
“The emblem represents a commitment to supporting the welfare of veterans and their families.
“The event will be attended by distinguished guests, including top government officials, military personnel, veterans, community leaders, and members of the public.
“It will feature ceremonial activities, and a display of military prowess to honor the valor and dedication of our armed forces.
“The event is scheduled to be held on December 15, 2023, at the main Bowl of the Cultural Centre Complex, Calabar at 10 am.”
