The grand finale of the John Owan Enoh (JOE) Tennis Tournament is set to take place today, (Tuesday), in what is a culmination of the Cross River State Open, at the prestigious Calabar Sports Club.
The JOE Tennis Tournament, an initiative of the Minister of Sports Development, Senator John Owan Enoh via the John Owan Enoh Foundation, aims to provide a platform for nurturing tennis talents, promoting sportsmanship, and fostering a culture of healthy competition.
The tourney features an Under 15 category, doubles, women’s and men’s singles, and pro exhibition games.
A statement signed by his media aide, Diana Mary Nsan quotes him as saying, “The tournament represents a foundation for athletic excellence and dedication. It’s a testament to our passion to support aspiring athletes and promote sports development within our communities.”
“Also, this is an avenue of giving back to the society and community as a son of the soil, empowering young and talented people to find purpose, pursue passion, and attain greatness.”
The tournament, reports say, has witnessed a remarkable display of talent, determination, and sportsmanship among participants throughout its stages, with players and spectators alike having memorable experiences.
