The Cross River State Command of the Nigerian Police Force has felicitated with Christian faithful in the State, ensuring a hitch-free and secure atmosphere of celebration.
The Command gave the assurance in a press release signed and made available by its Police Public Relations Officer, SP Irene Ugbo, for the Commissioner of Police – CP Gyogon Grimah.
The police boss directed on-the-clock surveillance activities, foot vehicular patrols, and visibility policing across the State to forestall any breach of peace.
While calling on residents to report suspicious activities, CP Grimah further directed Area Commanders, DPOs, and Tactical Commanders to ensure the safety and security of the members of the public before, during, and after the celebrations. Warning that the Command will not fold its hand and watch any group or individuals under whatever guise to obstruct or cause a breakdown of law and order in the State.
The release reads in part: “The Cross River State Police Command under the stewardship of CP Gogo Augustine Grimah, psc, FCAI wishes to felicitate with the good people of Cross River State stewardship of CP Gyogon Augustine Grimah, psc, FCAl wishes to felicitate with the good people of Cross River State, and Christian faithful on the upcoming 2024 Easter celebration.
“In furtherance of the above, the Commissioner of Police has directed on-the-clock Surveillance activities, foot vehicular patrols, and visibility policing across the State to forestall any breach of peace and hitch-free Easter celebration. The CP enjoins all citizens residing in the state to go about their lawful businesses without fear, or panic.
“Meanwhile, Area Commanders, Division Police officers (DPOS), and Tactical Commanders are directed to ensure the safety and security of the members of the public before, during, and after the celebrations. The Police Command will not fold its hand and watch any group or individuals under whatever guise to obstruct or cause a breakdown of law and order.
“Furthermore, the Commissioner of Police calls on good-spirited citizens with useful and genuine information to continue to support the Police and other sister agencies in their efforts to ensure peaceful coexistence in the state and the Nation as a whole.
