The Police in Cross River has busted gun manufacturing hideout in Ebom Village, Abi Local Government Area of the State,
The operation which lasted for hours on June 11, 2024 was led by the State Security Adviser to Governor Bassey Otu, General Obono Eno (Rtd).
During the operation, an unspecified number of arms and ammunition were recovered.
Arms recovered includes locally made RPG guns, AK-47 rifles, pistols, voluminous amounts of bullets, fabricating and welding machines and among others.
The operation saw the arrest of the manufacturer; a yet-to-be named man believed to be in his 50s.
The named village is among many villages in Abi LGA that have taken arms against their neighbors over land disputes.
