Cross River State Governor, Senator Bassey Otu has applauded the triumph of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in the recent gubernatorial election in Edo State with open arms, saying the election conduct was free and fair.
He extended congratulations to the Governor-elect, Senator Monday Okpebholo.
In a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Nsa Gill, Governor Otu lauded the active participation of the people of Edo State in the election, emphasizing that their votes have unequivocally echoed, underscoring the robust foundation of democracy in the nation.
“The outcome of the election underscored the importance of citizens exercising their democratic prerogative and the consequential impact it wields on the political landscape of our nation”, Otu quipped.
Governor Otu expressed his gratification in aligning both Cross River State and Edo State under the aegis of the All Progress Congress, stressing that “It is a promising indication of unity and collaboration that will fortify the South-south region’s position in national politics.”
Governor Otu characterized the party’s triumph “as a testament to diligence, dedication, and unwavering commitment to public service, accentuating the party’s fundamental values and principles.”
He maintained his conviction that Senator Okpebholo would uphold these ideals as he steers the state towards a brighter future.
Governor Otu also extended his felicitations to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on the APC’s victory in Edo State, noting that it further depicts the success of his renewed hope agenda for the nation.
