Cross River State Government has introduced free shuttle services for residents of Calabar metropolis.
The initiative, dubbed the “Season of Sweetness Free Transport Service,” aims to provide accessible and affordable transportation options for citizens to cushion the effects high transportation in the metropolis during the yuletide period.
To utilize the free shuttle service, residents are advised to look out for mini-buses bearing the “Season of Sweetness Free Transport Service” stickers.
The designated buses will be fully covered by the government until the end of the year. The amount to paid to the selected over 50 buses is not ascertained at the time of filing this report. However, CrossRiverWatch gathers that about N40,000 to N45,000 daily for the duration.
The government has encouraged residents to take advantage of the service with the program said to be monitored for effectiveness and feedback from users.
Potential users are advised to check official state government’s website and local media outlets for more information on routes and schedules.
