VIDEO: Commercial Female Minibus Drivers Laud Governor Otu After Free Shuttle Initiative, Felicitates Merry Christmas

Female commercial minibus drivers in Cross River State, have lauded the State Governor, Senator Bassey Otu for introducing free shuttle services for residents across the state.

The initiative, dubbed the “Season of Sweetness Free Transport Service,” according to the government, aims to provide accessible and affordable transportation options for citizens to cushion the effects of high transportation in the metropolis during the yuletide period.

About 53 vehicles plying various routes in the Calabar metropolis – Etta Agbor, Atimbo, Ekpo Abasi, 8 Miles, Marian, Murtala Mohammed Highway, IBB Way, Stadium, MCC and other routes. There are also other intral local government travels where travelers board free of charge.

CrossRiverWatch gathers that the selected commercial vehicles with government stickers will be paid a yet-to-be confirmed amount daily.

And the Commercial Female Minibus Drivers Association President in the State, Philomina Asibe Ifeoma and other women in a video, rolled out drums for the governor and his wife.

The women said the kind gesture has gone a long way to wipe out tears in the eyes of many homes in this festive period in the area of transportation.

While also applauding the Governor Otu and his wife for carrying women along in his government, wished him and his family, cabinet and government a Merry Christmas and prosperous new year.
