The Management of the University of Cross River State (UNICROSS) has suspended its first semester examinations for the 2024/2025 academic session indefinitely.

This decision was made due to an ongoing industrial dispute between the University Management and four Labor Unions: the Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities (SSANU), the Non-Academic Staff Union (NASU), the National Association of Academic Technologists (NAAT), and the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU).

According to a circular issued by the university registrar, Victor E. Ene, the dispute has made it impossible for the examinations to proceed as scheduled.

The management apologizes for any inconvenience the suspension may cause to students and stakeholders, assuring that efforts are being made to resolve the issues and restore normal

Staff, students, and stakeholders are enjoined to remain calm and supportive of the ongoing dialogue aimed at resolving the dispute amicably, while a new timetable for the examinations will be communicated as soon as the situation is put to bed.
