The Government of Cross River has announced a series of activities to commemorate the 2025 Armed Forces Remembrance Week to honor Nigerian fallen heroes who have served and defended the sovereignty of the nation.
A press release issued by Commissioner for Social Welfare and Community Development Mrs. Margaret Ene Ita and e-signed by the Commissioner of Information, Erasmus Ekpang, the events kicked off on Friday, January 10, 2025, at 1:00 PM with an Islamic Religious Worship at the 13 Brigade Central Mosque Calabar, followed by a Christian Interdenominational Worship on Sunday (today), January 12, 2025, by 10:00 AM at the Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Navy Barracks, Akim, Calabar.
The activities will involve the laying of wreaths by the Governor, Senator Bassey Otu, and other major stakeholders on Wednesday, January 15, 2025, by 10:00 AM, at the Millennium Arcade, 11-11 Roundabout, Calabar.
Governor Otu, his Deputy, the Speaker of the state House of Assembly and his Members; the State Chief Judge, Members of the State Executive Council, Local Government Chairmen, the State Chairman, members of the state Traditional Rulers Council, among others, and as well as the public are invited to the ceremony.
