3 Appointed To Tackle HomeLand Security In 3 Senatorial District In Cross River

As part of efforts to tackle security at the senatorial level, the Governor of Cross River State, Senator Bassey Otu, has appointed three directors to oversee the Homeland Security Agency.

This was contained in a press release issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Gill Nsa on Thursday, February 20th, 2025.

The Directors are Mr. Raphael Odu – North, Mr. Felix Arikpo – Central, and Hon. Michael Nsan for Southern Senatorial districts.

According to the State Planning Commission, Cross River State Homeland Security’s mandate is to ensure the safety and security of residents, properties, and infrastructure. The agency will prevent, respond to, and manage emergencies, disasters, and threats that could compromise the state’s peace and stability.

The release states that the State Homeland Security will coordinate with law enforcement agencies, disaster management bodies, and other state departments to enhance the state’s overall security and resilience.

This also will include addressing security challenges, maintaining law and order, and providing effective emergency response systems.

They will also be involved in intelligence gathering, crisis management, and public awareness programs related to security.

The appointment is with immediate effect.
