By Favour Adinya

The Management of the University of Calabar (UNICAL) has said the proposed examination for her students will go ahead despite the date and time clashing with the state monthly clean-up.

In an announcement, Prof. Tony Eyang, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic), confirmed that all examinations scheduled for Saturday, February 22, 2025, will proceed as planned. This includes exams set for the morning hours, and there will be no rescheduling due to the monthly sanitation exercise.

Cross River State Government in a long-standing initiative to promote cleanliness and public health in the state schedules every last Saturday of the month as sanitation day from the hours of 7:AM to 10:AM.

UNICAL says all students, lecturers, and Heads of Departments should arrive before the time, emphasizing the importance of adhering to the schedule and urging everyone involved to treat the announcement seriously. “It is crucial that all parties ensure they are on time to avoid any disruptions to the examination process,” he stated.

Students and faculty are reminded that no changes have been made to the examination timetable, and they should prepare accordingly, adding that the administration is committed to maintaining the integrity of the academic calendar despite the ongoing sanitation efforts in Calabar.
