CP Olusegun Eyitayo Resumes As Cross River’s 47th Commissioner Of Police

CP Olusegun Eyitayo Omosanyin, has officially resumed duty as the 47th Commissioner of Police, Cross River State Command of the Nigerian Police Force

The Command’s Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) Irene Ugbo disclosed this in a press release issued on Friday, March 28, 2025.

CP Olusegun, who resumed on Thursday, March 27th, upon arrival at the Command headquarters, was warmly received and conducted an inspection of the sentry guard before proceeding to his office to begin his new assignment.

He also proceeded to the Command Officer’s Mess at Moore Road, Calabar, where he addressed Senior Officers, Tactical Commanders, and Heads of Departments.

In his address, CP Omosanyin highlighted several critical areas that are pivotal to enhancing the efficiency and integrity of the police force in Cross River State which includes Illegal detention.

The new State Police Boss, emphasized the importance of upholding the law, stating that illegal detention of individuals is unacceptable and must strictly be avoided.

He reiterated the Command’s commitment to zero tolerance for corrupt practices and eradicating corruption within the force, urging all officers to remain diligent and uphold the highest standards of professionalism.

On adherence to fundamental human rights, CP Omosanyin stressed the need for all officers to respect and protect the human rights of the citizens they serve, ensuring that law enforcement is conducted with integrity and fairness.

He called for policing practices that are guided by equity, justice, and fairness, aiming to foster a positive relationship between the police and the community.

CP Olusegun emphasized the importance of effective planning and the need for officers to be visible and accessible to the public, ensuring a proactive approach to crime prevention and community engagement.
