He extended condolences to his family, the Government of Katsina State, and the entire nation.

On his official Facebook handle, he said: “With a heart weighed down by grief yet lifted by the indelible legacy he leaves behind, I, on behalf of the Government and people of Cross River State, mourn the passing of Nigeria’s former President, Muhammadu Buhari, a statesman of stoic grace, uncommon discipline, and unwavering devotion to nationhood.

“His life was a luminous tapestry of sacrifice, honour, and a quiet, enduring patriotism that etched his name into the soul of our country. Nigeria grieves, yet stands in solemn salute to a leader who bore the burdens of our collective dream with dignity.

“President Buhari’s departure marks the twilight of an era defined by integrity and an iron-clad commitment to national rebirth. Though his voice is now silenced, the echoes of his service, his steadfastness, his Spartan simplicity, his unshakeable belief in the unity of Nigeria, shall resonate through generations unborn.

“We extend our deepest condolences to his family, the Government of Katsina State, and indeed the entire nation. May his noble soul find rest in the bosom of eternity, and may his memory remain a guiding star in our continuing search for peace and progress.”
