The Managing Director of Cross River State Water Board Limited (CRSWBL), Chief Godwin Nyiam has assured Cross Riverians that plans have been put in place to bring to an end the woe of water scarcity in the State.
He stated this in a final Public Private Partnership (PPP) engagement meeting with engineers and expert from Agua Global Service Limited and Facilum Management limited held at the CRSWBL Headquarters Office, Calabar.
Godwin Nyiam said the PPP agreement is midwife by Core Trust investment Nigeria Limited and about seven companies were selected in which the above mentioned companies made it to the final stage and have been given the mandate to ensure that water board gets back to it original feet and water production is sustainable.
“Not too long from today Water scarcity will be history, we will ensure that there is plenty of water for everybody because we have gotten to the final stage. I just want to thank Cross Riverians for their patience and prayers, as I said, we are not going to disappoint them, we are getting there.”
Representative of Agua Global Service Limited, Engr. Benedict Ukpebor assured steady water supply with production commence.
His counterpart from Facilum Management Limited, Salimat Haruna echoed the sentiment that her company is ready to change the narrative of water supply in the state.
Some residents of Ikot Ansa and Ikot ishie community who spoke to CrossRiverWatch applauded the move by CRSWBL in restoring water to homes in the state as a welcome development.
Miss. Emilia Amba said the gesture if materialized, will save cost of water purchase.
Ibeifaka Helen added: “It will reduced the hardship and stress resident undergo, especially paying much for water and curtail water born disease.”
