Barrister Orok Bassey Okon has been appointed as the new Head of Cross River State Civil Service.
The appointment was contained in two separate press releases signed by the Chief Press Secretary and Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to Governor Otu, Linus Obogo, and also from the Secretary to the State Government, Professor Anthony Owan Enoh, dated September 16th, 2025.
The appointment approved by Governor Bassey Otu, is said to take effect from 19th September 2025, following the retirement of Dr. Innocent Ebri Eteng, whose “illustrious career in the service of the state stands as a beacon of dedication and excellence.”
The Governor charged the new Head of Service to lead with vision, integrity, and reform-driven zeal, fostering efficiency, professionalism, and accountability across the public service.
According to the release, the appointment underscores the administration’s steadfast resolve to enthrone competent leadership and strengthen the machinery of governance for optimal service delivery to the people of Cross River State.
