The Tiger Football Club on Friday emerged winners of the 12th edition of the Comrade Odey Adamade Unity Football tournament, beating Central Stars Football Club 3-2 during penalties after the game ended 1-1 during regulation time.
Named after the favorite alcohol beverage of players, the football club, which is also a social club that has been in existence for a few years, this is the first time since its decision to register and participate for the tournament that Tiger FC is progressing to the final of the tournament held annually at the Uti J.A. Agba Memorial stadium in Obudu.
Their best performance before now was a third-place match.

Kicked off by the Commissioner of Sports in Cross River State, Agnes Atsu, assisted by Federal Lawmaker, Peter Akpanke, Chairman of Obudu Local Government Area, Peter Undiandeye and the founder of the tournament, Comrade Odey Adamade Esq, the crunchy affair drew in over 2,000 individuals who thronged the less than 1,000 seating capacity facility, with fans of both teams sharing hugs, beverages, and meals after the game – a scenario they said, is now associated with the tournament.
A former Director General of the Cross River State Emergency Management Agency, Princewill Ayim, Real Estate moguls, George Abang and Ifeanyi Molokwu, as well as members of the Class of 1995 of Government Secondary School, Obudu who had their 30th year graduation anniversary, annual general meeting, and reunion among other dignitaries were present.
Meanwhile, a regular at the tourney which aims to promote unity amongst the people of Obudu, Academy Football Club emerged bronze winners after beating Ukwutia Football Club via penalties with the tie ending goalless during regulation time.
