The Commissioner of Police, Cross River State Police Command, CP Rashid B. Afegbua, has formally decorated four hundred and sixty-four (464) Inspectors elevated to the rank of Assistant Superintendent of Police II (ASP II), urging them to uphold integrity, discipline, and rule of law.
The decoration ceremony held at the Command Headquarters in Calabar, marked a significant milestone in the professional careers of the officers.
Addressing the newly promoted ASPs, the Commissioner described the promotion as a product of merit, consistency, and proven dedication to duty.
CP Afegbua reminded the officers that higher rank comes with heightened expectations, greater leadership responsibilities, and increased public scrutiny. He urged them to justify the confidence reposed in them by upholding the core values of professionalism, accountability, and respect for human rights.

Emphasizing operational excellence, the Commissioner charged the officers to strictly comply with the rule of law, standard operating procedures, and the ethical principles of the Nigeria Police Force. He encouraged them to lead by example and contribute meaningfully to strengthening public trust and internal discipline within the Command.
Responding on behalf of her colleagues, ASP Martina Francis expressed appreciation to the Inspector-General of Police and the Police Service Commission for approving their promotion. She assured the Command that the newly decorated officers would remain committed to efficient service delivery and the protection of lives and property across the State.
The ceremony was witnessed by members of the Command Management Team, senior officers, families of the promoters, among others.
