A High Court of Cross River State presided over by Justice Blessing Egwu has convicted, and sentenced to life imprisonment, one Uduak Etim Udoh for the rape of a minor.
Udoh, 39, was arrested for defiling an 8 year old on March 31st 2025.
Upon conclusion of investigations, he was charged to Court which led to his conviction.
Reacting to the judgment, James Ibor Esq, the principal counsel at Basic Rights Counsel Initiative, a nongovernmental organization commended all who played roles in ensuring justice is done.
“We wish to commend the Commissioner of Police, Cross River State, Rashid Afegbua, the Honorable Attorney General, Ededem Ani Esq, and his Director of Public prosecution Okoi Ukam Esq, for their commitment to keep our children safe,” he said.
