Information reaching CrossRiverWatch suggests that the University of Calabar has recalled two of its suspended lecturers, Professor Cyril Ndifon and Mr. Joseph Odok .
Ndifon, who was the Dean of the Faculty of Law was suspended for allegedly raping a student after tearing her script in the classroom for malpractice.
He is said to have invited her to his office where he forcibly had sex with her and several messages to CrossRiverWatch by his past students portrayed him as a randy man.
The Varsity’s management suspended him according to the rules of the institution pending the outcome of his investigation by the police.
Petitions were filed against him while a legislator accused him of asking his friend’s daughter to suck his genitals with his apologists resorting to attacks on the alleged victim by leaking her image and details to the press.
The industrial court and federal high court okayed his investigations by law enforcement agencies in separate rulings.
As at press time it was unclear, how the investigation against him has turned out as CrossRiverWatch obtained photographs of him being welcomed by staff and students of the faculty at the Varsity compound last week.
In a similar development, unconfirmed information reaching CrossRiverWatch suggests suspended lecturer, Mr. Joseph Odok has also been recalled by the Varsity’s management.
Mr. Odok, who had uploaded confidential documents of his query on Facebook after being charged with insubordination among others, was suspended after Police arrested him earlier in the year for allegedly being in illegal possession of firearms.
He was paid half of his basic salary while the suspension lasted with check off dues and other deductions leaving him with a paltry sum every month.
Efforts to get management comments as at press time failed as the Public Relations Officer of the institution, Mr. Eyo had asked this reporter to call him “around 12 noon) on Monday after he took his call by 8:58AM and when called twice at 12 noon, he picked the call for four and nine seconds respectively without saying anything before dropping the call.
