According to the Chairman of the Committee, Rt. Hon. Davies Eta, the extension is necessary to allow the committee more time to conclude its investigation and present a comprehensive report to the House.

The Speaker, Rt. Hon. Elvert Ayambem, thereafter ruled in favor of the motion, extending Hon. Ushie’s total suspension period for another 3 months pending the outcome of the ongoing investigation.
