Cross River State Governor, Senator Ben Ayade has approved the appointment of the immediate past Chief of Staff to the former governor of the State, Mr. Jude Ngaji as the State Security Adviser (SSA).
A statement issued by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Mr. Christian Ita, this morning said Mr. Ngaji’s appointment is with immediate effect.
The new State Security Adviser, Jude Ngaji is also the son of a former Senator who represented Cross River North, Senator Greg Ngaji.
In a related development, Governor Ayade has also approved the setting up of a Security Taskforce code named “Operation Skolombo.”
The Taskforce, which has Retired General Mannings Nyiam as Chairman, is saddled with the task of riding the state of criminals.
The Governor has also sent an Executive Bill to the State House of Assembly, seeking death penalty for convicted kidnappers in state.
The bill also seeks to empower the state to seize property belonging to convicted kidnappers and other criminals in the state, even as it offers rewards to citizens who offer credible information to security agencies on activities of criminals.
