The ‘Canaan City’ will once again be the home to Nigeria’s Under-17 national team, after Cross River State Governor, Liyel Imoke approved camping for the team in the state capital, which was also home to the previous set of the Golden Eaglets that went on to be crowned World champions.

NFF Technical Director, Emmanuel Ikpeme made this disclosure to players and officials of the team after their 3-2 win over Egypt in the friendly game played on Wednesday last week.

“I want to use this opportunity to inform you that His Excellency, the Governor of Cross River State has approved your return to Calabar.

“We believe it will give you a conducive environment to work on these young players,” Ikpeme said.
