Scores of youths and indigenes of Yakurr LGA yesterday protested what they described as the attempt by the Senator Ben Ayade government to downgrade the Institute of Technology and Management, ITM in Ugep from a Diploma awarding institution affiliated to the Highbury College in Portsmouth England to a technical school.

The youths who were led by a Canada based Yakurr born activist and social commentator Mr. Obasesam Okoi bore placards with different inscriptions and walked round the community adjoining the school to spread their call for the government to rescind their decision as well as visiting some traditional chiefs to submit their petition.

The protesters eventually storm the school gate were there were received and addressed by the school management after submitting their petition.
