FCE Obudu Staff Protest As Police Rescue Kidnapped Lecturer

Staff of the Federal College of Education, FCE Obudu Wednesday demonstrated against the recurring kidnapping of staff of the institution.

The demonstration comes on the heels of the kidnap and subsequent release of a principal lecturer of Igbo Language in the school of Languages of the institution, Mrs. Anyocha .

The placard bearing staff went round the institution chanting solidarity songs calling on security agencies to live up to expectations.

Anyocha, CrossRiverWatch gathered was kidnapped Tuesday evening. Her abductors were unlucky as family sources say they were caught by Policemen from the Benue state command who after formalities released Anyocha.

The tertiary institution has been hit by kidnappings of late, a crime which till 2015 was unheard of in the local government area.
