Ahead of the 2016/2017 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) season, Enyimba FC of Aba also known as the People’s Elephants have chosen to play their home games in Calabar.

The People’s Elephant have been away from their traditional ground, Enyimba International Stadium which is undergoing repairs.

Due to the renovations going on at the stadium, Enyimba FC played their home matches at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium, Port Harcourt during the 2015/2016 season.

Ahead of the new season, the club has however announced that they will be playing in Calabar.

According to top club sources, the club believes that they will feel more at home in Calabar than any other alternative available to them.

Enyimba will host Sunshine Stars of Akure at their new ground on the opening day of the 2016/2017 NPFL season.
