The best harvester for the 2017 Mbube new yam festival, Mr. Austin Offum is now a owner of a brand new Daylong DL 150 motorcycle.

This is courtesy of Honorable Peter Odey, the member representing Ogoja in the state House of Assembly.

Mr. Odey while presenting the prize called on the community to take farming serious and charged them to go beyond subsistence farming for personal consumption to commercial agriculture as it has become clear that was the way forward.

“There was a time when agriculture was the mainstay of Nigeria’ s economy, not crude oil.

“Over the years, since independence, the trend has changed regrettably.

“Let’s return back to farming especially large scale farming. I am giving this gift as a way of demonstrating my commitment to making life easier for farmers,” Mr. Odey said.

Mr. Offum in his remarks commended Mr. Odey’s gesture and asked him to sustain it which Mr. Odey had earlier pledged to do.
