President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has congratulated former Senate Leader, Senator Victor Ndoma-Egba (SAN), on the occasion of his 70th birthday, describing him as a patriot and distinguished statesman who has made significant contributions to Nigeria’s legal profession and legislative development.
In a statement issued by the State House on Sunday, the President praised Ndoma-Egba for his decades of service to the country, particularly during his time in the National Assembly where he represented the Cross River Central Senatorial District in the Senate for three consecutive terms between 2003 and 2015.
President Tinubu noted that the former Senate Leader of the 7th National Assembly played critical roles during challenging periods in the country’s democratic journey, especially at moments when the National Assembly was required to provide leadership and stability.
The President commended Ndoma-Egba for his professionalism, integrity and commitment to national service, describing him as one of the country’s finest legal luminaries.
“I rejoice with family, friends, and associates of one of the finest legal luminaries and statesmen in the country on this important milestone of turning 70,” the President said.
“Senator Ndoma-Egba has served the country well in many capacities. He has been a stabilizing force in public service and politics. “It is on record that he remains the first and only lawyer to date to earn the prestigious title of Senior Advocate of Nigeria while in the Senate.
“I congratulate Ndoma-Egba on his 70th birthday and wish him more years and good health as he continues to serve Nigeria and humanity.”
Ndoma-Egba, a respected legal practitioner and political figure, has remained an influential voice in national affairs and public policy since leaving the Senate. His career has spanned through law, politics and governance, earning him recognition as one of Nigeria’s prominent statesmen.
