The Chief Whip of the Cross River State House of Assembly and member representing Boki II State Constituency, Rt. Hon. Hilary Ekpang Bisong, has expressed gratitude to his supporters following the decision of the All Progressives Congress (APC) on the political contest in Ikom/Boki.
In a statement dated May 15, 2026, titled “My Gratitude/Appreciation to the Great People of Ikom/Boki,” made available to CrossRiverWatch newsroom, Bisong thanked supporters, political associates, family members, and well-wishers who stood by him throughout his political journey.
The lawmaker said the overwhelming support he received after declaring his intention under the APC platform reflected the trust and hope the people of Ikom/Boki had in his vision for leadership and development.
“Your support was not just political, it was personal, emotional, and deeply inspiring,” the statement read.
Bisong highlighted several initiatives pursued during his political career, including youth empowerment, educational support, community development projects, human capital advancement, and legislative interventions aimed at improving the welfare of constituents.
He however, acknowledged that the party had taken a decision regarding the contest and stressed his continued loyalty to the APC, noting that true leadership requires patience, discipline, and respect for collective decisions.
“Though the party has taken its decision, I remain loyal to the ideals and unity of the APC, a party committed to the growth and progress of our people,” he said.
The Chief Whip also encouraged his supporters to remain hopeful and united, expressing confidence that the future of Ikom/Boki remained bright despite the political outcome.
Quoting Jeremiah 29:11, Bisong said he believed the current development was “not the end of the road” but another chapter in a greater journey.
He further appreciated youths, elders, women, and political allies who supported his ambition publicly and privately, assuring them that their loyalty and sacrifices would not be forgotten.
He prayed for peace, progress, and continued unity within Ikom/Boki and the APC in Cross River State.
