Five persons were initially arrested for questioning as suspects involved in the alleged theft and receipt of electricity materials. Those suspects were identified as Tochukwu Nwogwu, Boniface Egede, Mustapha Isa Aliyu, Yakubu Musa and Emmanuel Hope.

As the investigation was ongoing, the police released Yakubu Musa and Emmanuel Hope after investigations found them not guilty why others remain in police custody as investigations continue.

The Command stated that it was pursuing further leads to establish the circumstances surrounding the alleged offence and determine the individual roles of the remaining suspects.

The Commissioner of Police in Cross River State, CP Ajo Geoffrey Ordue, reiterated the commitment of the command to ensuring that anyone found responsible or guilty of any unlawful possession of stolen electricity materials faces the law.
