Police To Tighten Security After Atiku Abubakar Tackled Governor Otu

By Esther Donald

The Cross River State Police Command has directed heightened intelligence gathering and increased security monitoring in Ekorinim 1 Housing Estate, Calabar, following reports of alleged recurring burglary incidents in the area.

The directive was issued by the Commissioner of Police, CP Ajo Geoffrey Ordue and contained in a press release issued by the Command’s spokesman ASP Sunday Eitokpah, following media reports raising concerns over the security situation in the area.

According to the release, preliminary checks with the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) in charge of State Housing Division revealed that no recent formal complaints of burglary had been received at the station.

However, the Command assured residents that their concerns would not be ignored, adding that a comprehensive security assessment would be conducted to verify the reports and identify possible security threats.

The Police encouraged residents to report suspicious movements and criminal activities promptly, while assuring the public of its commitment to intelligence-led policing and effective community engagement across the state.
