The Speaker of the Cross River State House of Assembly, Hon John Gaul Lebo has said that the House will Unveil its Media Center and Citizen Agenda Project next Thursday.

According to the Speaker who spoke to CrossRiverWatch yesterday, the project is the intellectual vehicle that will usher in the new ‘Idea Regime’ for the 8th Assembly. The Project model is to make “the citizen” a primary focus and central organizing principle of legislative output.

“Under the project our success value will be estimated and measured by the quality of value that our legislative product and processes can add. A special committee of the House will oversee the project governance architecture.”

The Speaker added that the House is also set to establish its own Legislative Academy in accordance with the 2015 legislative direction.

He said the academy will service the human resources department of the House and serve as a capacity building center for the public.

“Upon establishment, the center will be outsourced to a reputable Human Resource firm to manage and develop. The academy will be a resource center for present, past and future honorable members, staff, councillors, stakeholders and interested members of the public.” He said.
