A brothel in Ugep, ‘Under The Cocoa’ was closed down Wednesday, by men of the Obol Lopon’s vigilante group CrossRiverWatch can authoritatively report.
The vigilante group stormed the facility at about 11:00PM and chased away all the commercial sex workers with mixed reactions greeting the action.
“I do come to ‘Under The Cocoa’ to take my beer, but this girls are too young to practice prostitution” says one male customer (unnamed). “Some of them are 13, 14, to 15 years, they are supposed to be in school” he added.
However, the action did not go down well with all as another male respondent said that, “The Obol Lopon is not trying, Ugep is a town, why does he want to spoil this young man’s business. The girls are not being forced to come to ‘Under The Cocoa’ joint.
“If the Obol Lopon wants to really chase girls from ‘Under The Cocoa’, he should likewise chase ashawo girls in Mangoma too”.
