The Chairman of the Cross River State New Cities Development Board, Mr. Kjay Agba and a Federal House of Representatives hopeful, Engineer Wofai Ewa have enjoined Christians to reflect on the true values of the resurrection of Jesus Christ which is love, unity and forgiveness.
Mr. Agba in a statement signed by himself, said that the feeling of Easter does not end as it resonates with the signals of the beginning of a new life of friendship, kindness, love, compassion and hope which according to him are “values that we can celebrate, share and imbibe in our constituency.”
Agba is also a hopeful for the House of Representatives as he seeks to represent the Obudu/Obanliku/Bekwarra federal constituency.
And, he said that having been “an unapologetic believer in the power of Easter and it ability to awaken in us the realization that the capacity to change and bring about a better future for our people rest within us,” urged all not to “lose hope in the face of severe economic realities of the time, but have courage in the fact that the future holds better prospect for us.”
He enjoined all to a celebration of love faith and peace and sued for support for those who have been neglected.
“I enjoin us all to keep in our thoughts and prayers all those in our constituency and our various communities who have suffered neglect in one form or the other, the youths, the elderly, the vulnerable in our societies who need our help most at this dare moment. May we find the strength to continue to fight with them in solidarity and may we find the courage to shoulder their responsibilities in our desires to build a better world for our people,” he said.
Agba, who said Christians live more in the victory of the resurrection of Jesus Christ, also said that: “His victory would be our victory in the coming months. As always, I am so thankful for your friendship and support. I look forward to more of this support in the fullness of time.”
In a similar note, Mr. Ewa said that his message of Easter is one of love, unity, joyful giving and hope.
“Christ was raised from death, a massive sign of Hope that signifies that regardless of our pains, regardless of our struggles, regardless of our worries, regardless of our confusion, regardless of our tears, we can always find hope to get us right back on the path to achieving the minimum things that lead us on to happiness, love, unity, peace and prosperity together as a people,” Ewa said in a statement signed by him.
Ewa said that Christ had demanded that Christians regenerate through his death and resurrection and leave the ways of the old. This, according to him was the way to go as he prayed that: “May we realise, read and follow the events of the times, and regenerate ourselves, regenerate our minds, regenerate our communities and chart a new path to collective greatness and prosperity,” as, “The future of ours, and of our unborn, demands this revolutionary progression.”
He said the Easter celebration will remind man always about the opportunities previously offered. But, there was another chance to “rewrite our own story, in line with the story of love, unity, peace and hope, and in line with the regenerative story of Christ that the message of Easter presents to us.”
